The HTM61 S2 now features a Decoupled Double Dome tweeter, ideal for delivering the clarity needed for dialogue. Using construction techniques found in the 600 Series floorstanders, the HTM61 S2 also features two 6.5-inch bass drivers that use new aluminium cones, for an ideal mix of punch and precision.
Below the Decoupled Double Dome tweeter and between the two 6.5-inch bass drivers lies an FST midrange driver. And to the rear of the speaker are two Flowports. It may not come as a surprise that big speakers sound, well, big.
The 683 S2s are larger than many of their peers, but the sense of scale is massive.
The soundstage is wide and tall, and instruments are organised with plenty of room to breathe.

Tonally they are well balanced and well integrated, but we should give a shout-out to the 683 S2s’ impressive low end.
It’s deep and authoritative enough to make you briefly wonder if there’s a subwoofer hidden somewhere. And yet nothing gets drowned out by the bass.
This is the kind of low-end heft we like: powerful but nuanced and controlled enough not to compromise the rest of the frequency range.
For the muscle on hand, there’s a surprising level of nuance. The 683 S2s are big and bold. They grab your attention effortlessly and stir your feet, but also provide delicacy and subtlety.

The DALI ALTECO C-1 is truly a multipurpose speaker in both design and function. DALI wanted to ensure that the ALTECO C-1 is usable as both a height speaker as well as a traditional stereo speaker. By designing the crossover for stereo use and by keeping a strict focus on DALI sound design principles, we have created a speaker that fulfills both criteria. It is the perfect fit for adding height information to a surround setup or taking the role as an out-of-the-way stereo speaker.
The ALTECO C-1 delivers believable height information from Atmos, DTS-X and Auro-3D movies in surround setup – not only when “firing up” using the ceiling as a reflector, but also “firing down” from a position up under the ceiling.
The ALTECO C-1 is able to achieve this even without special equalizing in order to enhance the effects from HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function) technology. A technology found in Atmos certified speakers. Instead the ALTECO C-1 relies only on the height processing done in the amplifier, when selected. Had we included non-linear HRTF equalizing in the ALTECO C1, it would have been impossible to use it as a versatile neutral speaker, limiting the use to only an up-firing type speaker.
