Introducing MAGICO

Magico was created over a decade ago for the sole purpose of leading a no-holds-barred assault on what is possible in contemporary loudspeaker design.

Inspired by the unique vision of industrial designer Alon Wolf, every Magico speaker is designed against the standard of perfect audio reproduction – live music.

Magico is located in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California.

Magico’s new 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art campus in Hayward, CA.

Magico employs highly trained craftsmen, technicians and machinists. These employees are highly specialized and dedicated to their specific craft, allowing Magico the capabilities of translating ideas and concepts into designs as well as fabricating prototypes, and manufacturing the whole product without outsourcing.

Magico A1

The A1 bookshelf loudspeaker features a fully braced aluminum enclosure, beryllium dome tweeter, carbon Nanographene cone, and our renowned elliptical crossover.

The A1 enclosure is constructed using 3⁄8” thick 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum.

An innovative internal bracing technique along with the most advanced damping materials makes the sealed enclosure incredibly rigid and free of unwanted mechanical resonances.

Featuring the same tweeter as the full range A3, the A1 utilizes a pure Beryllium-diaphragm with an optimized 28-mm dome based on the fundamental design platform and geometry of our reference M- Series tweeter.

The newly developed 6.5-inch mid-bass driver features a Multi-Wall carbon fiber cone with a layer of XG Nanographene, providing optimal stiffness to weight ratio and an ideal damping factor.

Magico A3

The inspiration for the new A3 was driven by the engineering challenge to create not only a full range loudspeaker that incorporates similar design philosophies found in higher-end Magico offerings but to provide an entry level category that is accessible to a new and wider audience of music enthusiasts.

The A3 enclosure is formed with machined 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum and includes a complex internal bracing structure that increases the stiffness and mass of the enclosure while minimizing overall resonance.

Extended high frequencies are provided by a newly designed Magico pure beryllium-diaphragm with an optimized 28-mm dome surface that is based on the fundamental design platform of the M-Project tweeter.

A newly designed Magico 6-inch midrange driver sets a new benchmark of measured performance in both frequency bandwidth and time domains. The cone material is formulated using Multi-Wall carbon fiber and a layer of XG Nanographene, which provides optimal stiffness to weight ratio with ideal damping properties.

All four drivers in the A3 are tested and optimized for acoustical, mechanical, electromagnetic, and thermal behaviors using the latest state-of-the-art Finite Element Analysis simulation testing.

Magico A5

The new A5 is a flagship A-Series model (3 way / 5 driver design) which incorporates the company’s first 5-inch pure midrange driver as well as enhanced midrange and bass driver cone technology. These new advanced cones achieve unprecedented stiffness-to-weight ratio, a key parameter that Magico has pursued over the past 15 years. The massive, sealed enclosure of the A5 is formed entirely of 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum, the same material and construction methods as in Magico’s acclaimed Q-Series.

The 9” bass drivers in the A5 feature a newly enhanced version of Magico’s Graphene Nano-Tech cones. Graphene, a hexagonal lattice of carbon and in relation to its thickness, it is about 100 times stronger than the strongest high-carbon steel. The new cone design combines Graphene layered carbon fiber with advanced new core materials to achieve the highest possible stiffness to weight ratio.

The new 5-inch full-cone midrange driver enables wider dispersion and greater midrange transparency. Like the bass driver, the midrange also incorporates an advanced Graphene carbon fiber sandwich cone. A new foam surround helps achieve ideal cone/surround integration, faster settling time and impressively low distortion.

The A5 will be the first product in the world to offer Mundorf’s new M-Resist Ultra foil resistors. Now perfected after years of development, the new resistors deliver greater power handling, transparency and liquidity.

Magico M2

Our materials science research in the properties and applications of carbon allows the M2 to feature a new monocoque enclosure. It is formed using multiple layers of carbon fiber adding up to a 3/8” thickness. Similar to the external shell of an F-35 fighter jet, this enclosure construction compared to machined or extruded aluminium parts increases the structural strength-to-weight ratio by a factor of 60, while reducing overall weight by 50%.

An extremely rigid enclosure which eliminates unwanted resonances and colorations, allowing all drivers to perform with stunning resolution and dynamics.

A purpose-built sub-enclosure formed of a proprietary polymer material houses the midrange driver to optimize the control and articulation of mid-band frequencies.

The M2 incorporates the Diamond coated Beryllium diaphragm tweeter (28-mm) The new tweeter provides extra-long excursion movement and uses a neodymium based motor system that is customized to match the sensitivity and power handling capabilities of the M2 while maintaining ultra-wide dispersion characteristics and ultra-low distortion measurements.

Magico is the world’s first manufacturer to utilize graphene in the development of a radically new and advanced loudspeaker cone design. Graphene has many extraordinary properties and is approximately 100 times stronger than the strongest steel.
